Neighborhood Overview
Top Urban Neighborhood With Suburban Charm
Rated by Forbes Magazine as a "Top Urban Enclave," Chestnut Hill is close to downtown Philadelphia, yet still has a charming small-town feel. Just steps from Chestnut Hill Village apartments are cobbled streets with a variety of shops, dining and services options, including 5-star restaurants such as Cin Cin with its inventive Chinese and pan-Asian recipes and Citrus with its delectable seafood selection. You'll also find an assortment of open-air cafes, antique shops, art galleries and a farmer's market.
Festival Fun and Stage Productions
Chestnut Hill hosts the annual Fall for the Arts during which the community closes down Germantown Ave. for the exhibition and sale of the works of 150 artists from around the country. Another favorite is The Stagecrafters Theater with its full schedule of plays.
Parks for Pets, Biking, Hiking and Play
Wissahickon Valley Park includes 1,800 acres that are part of 9,200-acre Fairmount Park. With its covered bridges, it's a wooded valley with Wissahickon Creek running through its entire seven-mile length. Pastorius Park is a hilly retreat that's known as prime dog-walking territory. The nearby 92-acre Morris Arboretum is the quiet home to thousands of rare and lovely plants.
With the serenity of nature and parks so close at hand, it's hard to believe the SEPTA Wyndmoor Train Station is just steps from your front door, providing easy access to Center City Philadelphia.
